python-gobject software package provides Python 2.x bindings for GObject - transitional package, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install python-gobject
python-gobject is installed in your system.
Make ensure the python-gobject package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep python-gobject *
You will get with python-gobject package name, version, architecture and description in a table
